Friends,We are sad to say that in November of 2017 we lost one of the founders of Side Pockets.
Richard "Rich" Hawkins was not only a dedicated entrepreneur and businessman, but an amazing pool player as well. He loved nothing more than the idea of a great sports bar and restaurant that provided a true "community" for pool players and non-pool players alike. His partnership with Keith Robinson led to the first Side Pockets and together the two built a successful chain based on their shared dream. For more than 20 years, Rich never stopped looking for ways to make the guest experience better or to provide more ways for guests and staff to enjoy their time at Side Pockets.
Rich was also a good friend and mentor to many at Side Pockets.
For those who knew him, his loss is deep and personal and it was important to all of us at Side Pockets to acknowledge his impact on our lives and on the organization.
Those of you who frequent a Side Pockets and didn't know Rich personally--you will never know how much you have also been touched by his energy and passion. His utmost goal was that every person who walks through our doors enjoy every moment of the time they spent here.
To that goal and especially to Rich, we say:
"Cheers, Rich; you made a difference and we will miss you."
